This week's surprise developments in the Ryan Widmer murder retrial were "devastating for the prosecution," said Mike Allen, a former Hamilton County prosecutor. Allen was referring to revelations that two versions of the same medic-run report exist, unbeknownst to two prosecution witnesses who testified Friday. Paramedic supervisor Lt. Brian Dapper and Detective Doyle Burke, chief investigator for the Warren County coroner, testified they were unaware of the second version of the document until Friday - 21 months after Sarah Widmer, 24, drowned in her Hamilton Township bathtub. On top of those problems, Dapper acknowledged that a paramedic was disciplined in connection with the case, apparently related to documentation of the care provided to Sarah Widmer. Hamilton Township medics gave highly detailed, blow-by-blow descriptions of the procedures they performed on Sarah Widmer.
