The Cincinnati Museum Center, the Rosenthal Institute for Justice/Ohio Innocence Project, and the YWCA of Greater Cincinnati will host Jennifer Thompson-Cannino and Ronald Cotton to speak about their book, Picking Cotton: Our Memoir of Injustice and Redemption.

Their book, a New York Times bestseller, details the experiences of Cannino, who was raped as a college student, and Cotton, who Cannino selected in a line-up as her attacker. Cotton served 11 years in prison for the attack before DNA proved that he was not the perpetrator. Two years after Cotton was released from prison, he and Cannino met and have since developed a very special friendship.

Former U.S. Attorney General Janet Reno says about Picking Cotton: "Few people have done more to put a human face on issues involving wrongful convictions than Jennifer Thompson-Cannino and Ronald Cotton. Yet through their shared pain, they have been able to forge a friendship that most of us search our lives for."

This book was featured on the television programs 60 Minutes and The Today Show. If you have questions about the event, please contact Daryl Osuch at 513-556-4275.
