Don't usually write on any blog , but after watching Dateline regarding Ryan's trial and the evidence I am very disturbed. Disturbed as to the fact that anyone could hear the same evidence I did and conclude he is guilty ! 99.9% of the time on Dateline they are guilty and even I can figure that out, but this is the 0.1% time that I am saddened at the fact an innocent man was found guilty. The 911 operator should be on trial as if you listen to the whole recording he doesnt even guide Ryan through how to do CPR, and offer him any reassurance that help is on the way (Ryan actually has to ask him ,during one of the numerous long pauses, if someone is coming )! I knew he was not guilty just by the Dateline exerpts, but after listening to the whole 911 recording I have no doubt in my mind. My thoughts and prayers are with Ryan, his friends and family, and here's to hoping that 12 new jurors with their heads screwed on right will reach the same conclusion all of us have !

I have never been so certain of someone's innocence. I am sure that she has some heart condition and the police are just to damn fast to judge. I am so hopeful that the next trial will result in a not guilty verdict. Ryan , you deserve the best . Can not anyone see how much he loved his wife ? My God, they only married for 114 days Ever since this aired on TV, can not get this off my mind. My heart goes out to Ryan , his family and Sarah's family. God bless each and every one of you . You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Injustice System

A guilty person: - Would not have tried to revive his/her victim. - Would not have called 911 for help. - Would've fled town. - Would've hid the remains of his victim. - Would've made up a bogus alibi. As I recall, Ryan did NONE of these. F*** you injustice system. You let guilty men go free while putting innocent people in prison. You also throw away children for their first offense. Have you ever considered that they were abused? Oh wait, you give abusers slaps on the wrist. A huge middle finger to InjusticeForSarah and BillyTroller.

WOW- Here in America it could happen to anyone-scary

Wow. I just listened to the 911 tape and I am stunned. I say this because I just watched the Dateline special on this case and saw that the jury found him guilty. I am stunned because after watching it on TV I assumed that the 911 tape would reveal Ryan was guilty based on the testimony shown on TV by Dateline (smoking gun if you will), however, that was not the case. I say this because there was, in my opinion, nothing that was shown that would convince me that he was guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. What I heard, and frankly I am dumbfounded that anyone else who would hear this would not agree, was a scattered, frightened, helpless man (especially getting NO help from the 911 operator)trying to save his wife's life. He sounded like I think he should. And by the way, on the tape he told the 911 guy that he had already tried to resuscitate Sara (" the best I know how")while she was in the tub. Ryan also said that he had let the water drain, wouldn't anyone do that instinctively? That's the first thing I would do if I found someone face down in the tub after I lifted their head up. So that to me would explain why she wasn't sopping wet.(If it were me and I was in shock, I don't think I could specifically say how much time had passed before the 911 call, could anyone?) If he had let the water out of the tub first and then spent time trying to give CPR before making the 911 call of course the bathroom would not be soaked, right? Is this what happens when a rush to judgment occurs? When the woman you love is found face down lifeless in a tub of water I would expect that the 911 call would sound something just like this. He was trying to save her and had called for help.(By the way, how long and how many pauses were there from the 911 guy? He really is bad at his job.) There were several times in that call where you could literally hear Ryan's pain as he sat helplessly as his wife's life slipped through his hands. I hope that the next jury uses more common sense when deliberating, and I hope they get to hear that tape. Good luck Ryan, my prayers are with you. I am so sorry for your loss, and also for Sara's family's loss. But sometimes there really isn't someone to blame.

The Tub Had Been Drained!!!

Has anyone noticed on the 911 call that the tub was drained even though Sarah was still in it? Ryan tells the douche bag 911 operator that he had drained the tub and been trying to give her CPR. How long had she been in the tub without the water? If the tub was drained before the call then there was at least 7 minutes (the length of the call) before the parametics arrived for the water to dry from Sarah's skin and this explains why there wasn't water all over the floor. the juror that was interviewed stated that there was only two minutes from the time he took her out of the tub before the parametics arrived, and that she should have been soaking wet. Duh, the dumbass should have realized that the tub had been drained before he removed her. Did the jurors not listen to the same tape that i heard? Poor Ryan, I would hate to know that the outcome of my life was in the hands of dumbasses like the juror that was interviewed. What a shame!!!! The 911 call shows a young man scared to death and trying to do what he could to save his wife's life. I never hear the operator tell him what to do to help save her. He should be FIRED!!! This poor young man was trying to remain calm and do the right thing. It was probably so unbelievable that this was happening to his young beautiful wife. I'll keep Ryan and his family in my prayers.

Salts in Water = No pruning.

I was unfamiliar with this case before watching the Dateline special on 9/18/09. After watching this, I felt a need to write and see if it was called to anyone's attention that the addition of salt of any type (Bath salts, epsom salts, sea salts - common additives in bath products) to bathwater can greatly reduce, perhaps even negate the effects of pruning to the skin. From Wikipedia: Salts change the osmotic balance of the water so that less water is absorbed by the skin via osmosis. This reduces the "pruning" or "wrinkling" effect of prolonged exposure of skin to fresh water. If Sarah was using a popular, yet common brand of bath salts, she would have experienced very little pruning to her fingers and toes.
